Strange Bedfellows

Beavers & Canadian Geese

24 x 46, Oil on Canvas

I went to a workshop in Algonquin Park last spring. There was massive flooding in that area, and the Beavers were flooded out of their dam. It wasn't until we got back to our motel rooms, that we noticed that there was a Canada Goose on the dam with them. Her eyes were shut. As one curious Beaver turned around to look at her, she never moved. In my photos I noticed she only slowly opened her eyes. When the Beaver turned around, she slowly shut her eyes. I am glad to say the next day the water levels were down about a foot, and the beavers were gone. The Goose was still there.
